Smaller but still challenging Mt. Meru is the third highest mountain in Africa and is located near the famous tourist town of Arusha within Arusha National Park (Momella).

At 14979 feet Mt. Meru offers the avid mountaineer as well as the discerning amateur an unsurpassed challenge. Scenery Safaris will organize a tour package that may include visits to parks and sanctuaries, accommodation, porters and transport

4 DAYS TREK
Day 1: Transfer to Momella Gate, in Arusha National Park for registration and start trekking. Walk through Arusha National park you will also enjoy a walking safari as you meet warthogs, buffalos and elephants. You will have an armed ranger to accompany you. Overnight at Miriakamba Hut at 2470m. There are great views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru along the route.
Day 2: A 3 to 4 hours trek through fine forest and heather to a Saddle Hut at 3500m. An optional trek up Little Meru in the afternoon can be arranged by your Guide to acclimatize you better. Day 3: You will start very early and headed up towards the crater rim, where you will get a beautiful views, before going up a ridge, which leads you to the Summit of Meru 4566m. You will then head down to Saddle Hut for a short rest, then proceed to Miriakamba for Overnight. Day 4: Walk down to the Park Gate and enjoy the walking safari after a successful trek. Transfer to Moshi for Overnight.
Note : Optional 3 days trek can be arranged for the more experienced mountaineers.
